Equipping Families for Joy
By the time a newborn reaches the age of 18, he or she will have spent 939 weeks, 6,574 days, and 567,993,600 seconds on the planet. Much of this time will be lived in the context of family relationships. How does your family celebrate life? How does your family overcome setbacks? How do you make time for joy in the journey of parenting?
Margaret Vogel, M.Ed. provides workshops and retreats for parents, grandparents and adults who want to make the most family life. With humor and humility participants explore the ups and downs of raising children.
Specific topics include:
- Celebrating the Sacred in Family Life. This workshop offers daily habits, practical prayer tools, and special rituals for milestone moments that can be practiced in your home to celebrate the movement of God in your family’s life.
- Learning to Tell Our Family Stories. Children benefit from hearing their family stories. Learn how to share stories from the cast of characters of family life -past and present. Use storytelling to teach values, inspire resiliency and increase family belonging.
- Our Family, Our Faith. This workshop acts as a facilitated dialogue with parents, grandparents and adults to discuss trends in the faith development of young people. Family faith formation tools will be shared with an eye toward the uniqueness of each family’s situation and hopes.
- Fostering Peace-Able Family Dynamics. This presentation explores what a child needs to thrive in the world from infancy through adulthood. Parents learn how to capitalize on their personal, family and community assets to foster a spirit of resiliency and peacemaking in their children.
